Dollhouse, Somewhat Disappointing...

As a fan of Joss Whedon's work, I had to check out Dollhouse. Before I even knew what it was about I had heard a lot of negative response to Dollhouse. This surprised me because Joss Whedon was known for the critically-acclaimed television series Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel, and Firefly. (And as a testament to my fandom of Joss Whedon, I am actually wearing a Serenity shirt as I type this.)

Buffy The Vampire Slayer
I like the premise of Dollhouse. It's a very interesting topic. It has great underlying themes, but it just falls short of something meaningful. I heard from a friend that the studio tried to take control of Joss Whedon and forced him to make Dollhouse different from what he had envisioned. And I can really see that. There is that genuine Joss Whedon aura, but it gets shrouded by something different.

  1. I've never heard of Dollhouse, thanks for the review though, it gave me a good look at it.

  2. it sucks when a creator is forced to alter his own vision because of the oppression from higher up.

    good post bro

  3. eh never see nan episode didnt know it was the guy that did buffy

  4. I hate when stuff like this happens to someone.

  5. Good blog you got here. You should check out mine. I just got it started.

  6. i felt the same way watching it, uncanny similarity to what i was actually telling my girlfriend earlier

  7. Yeah, I'm gonna look into this Dollhouse, maybe a few times.

    I really like Firefly...
